Technology problems..

Hey everyone! I’m SO sorry it’s been forever since I’ve been on here, but I’ve encountered some technological issues…

Within a couple of days, my computer battery is about to permanently die, my iPhone was dropped in water and stopped working, I had to get a little go-phone, and I switched domains!

The most exciting of those being my new domain. I had some hosting issues and decided to switch – so PLEASE if you follow me (or not), go follow me at my new blog page!

Red, white, & blue

Hey y’all

Happy Memorial Day to everyone!

I know the big trend for holidays like this is red, white, and blue everything! Some people go all out with American flag shorts, leggings, tanks – everything! I, on the other hand, tend to like using the signature colors in a more subtle way. Here’s my take:

What are your favorite ways to dress for patriotic holidays?

Long weekend!

It’s Memorial Day weekend which technically doubles as the first weekend of summer! Yay!

It’s HOT outside and feels beautiful so I went to my go-to summer style. One of my favorite trends is the high waisted short mixed in with some older styles that have stuck around for years (gladiator sandals)!

what to wear?

Hey y’all,

Sorry I’ve been gone the past couple of days – it has been busy! Tuesday night Collin and I were at our friends house all night for dinner and some games. We ended up staying really late and had a lot of fun out there! Then yesterday I finally got some quality time at the pool, a great workout, and Collin made us an AMAZING dinner.

So today, after I woke up I had to sit in on a magazine interview for work and run a few errands. I’m finally back in for the day!

I’m starting to really think about my cousins’ wedding I’ll be attending in a couple of weeks. I was talking to my mom the other day about what we should wear because it isn’t your typical wedding. It’s being held in the Stockyards and seems like it will be more casual than most. Initially I thought a maxi-dress would be super adorable – but my mom and I are both VERY short!

I’ve actually never worn a maxi-dress because of how short I am, but I would love to try it! Here are some of my favorites from Nordstrom that I think might work for us short people for the season:

Fire Bustier Maxi Dress (Juniors)

Splendid Stripe Faux Wrap Maxi Dress

Fire Strapless Print Chiffon Maxi Dress (Juniors) (Online Only)

These all have defined waistlines that would help from the dreaded no-leg image.

What do you think about maxi-dresses and height?

Thoughts with OK

I had every intention of making a post tonight…but I ended up spending the last hour taking shelter in the stairwell of my apartment complex.

My thoughts are with Moore, OK and everyone else in the path of these storms. I am in Northwest Arkansas and luckily, no tornado touched down here… but we did get the same line that went through there and it was VERY scary. The trees outside were completely sideways and the skies were completely black with the sirens going off.

Everybody being affected by this horrible weather, be sure to stay safe and take shelter if needed – better safe than sorry!

Thoughts for Oklahoma.

Relaxing..FINALLY

Hey y’all,

So it is FINALLY feeling like summer outside and I have definitely been enjoying it. But of course – relaxing 90% of the time means in my pajamas or workout clothes.

I did get a chance to get in some nicer clothes to go out to meet my boyfriend at his work yesterday, and went for a casual look (sans makeup). The weather was amazing in the 80’s and it was perfect to finally whip out my colored shorts I’ve been storing since last year.

Flashback Friday

I have noticed A LOT of leather on the runways lately and have seen leather products filling up clothing stores. It feels like I’m back in the 90’s with the leather pants trend!

One thing I actually just noticed today really blowing up the retail world is leather summer dresses – and it definitely caught my eye.

Here are a few adorable leather dress finds of mine..

What do YOU think about the trend? Will you be buying in this summer season?

You can take the girl out of TX…

The last few days my boyfriend got off work so we got to go to TEXAS – my home, sweet home. I fully believe that you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take the Texas out of the girl.

I was SO happy we got to see my wonderful parents right after Mother’s Day and my best friend from high school had her 21st birthday. But before I get to my trip…

As promised, I took advantage of the sunny, warm weather.

After getting some much needed sun, I had to run some errands and pack for our last-minute trip. Early Tuesday morning we drove on down to Texas and immediately began the birthday celebrations!

It’s almost swim season!

It’s almost my favorite time of the year…SUMMER!

The pool at my apartment complex isn’t opening til the last week of may (LAME, by the way) but that won’t stop me from laying out. The forecast is warm and sunny tomorrow and I can assure you I’ll be by the pool all day!

So in honor of how excited I am for this time of year, I’ll be sharing my favorite swimsuits that I’m dying to get!

These are from my absolute FAVORITE store to get swimsuits – Victoria’s Secret.

Where are your favorite places to shop for swimsuits?

MET Gala.. The good, the bad, the ugly..

I’m back fellow bloggers! Things got EXTREMELY crazy with finals for school… but IT’S SUMMER!! I’m finally taking a break before my last year of college and looking forward to enjoying this much needed time off.

And for my first post back, we’re taking a look at some Met Gala outfits.

This year, the theme was “Punk: Chaos to Couture.” Honestly, I love the idea. It is the perfect theme to get some high-couture unique outfits with personal twists. Here are my favorites:

Anne Hathaway

In Valentino, Anne Hathaway stood out to me in a floor-length dress that was stunning. It was extremely flattering and although “punk,” still classy.

Jennifer Lawrence

To be completely honest, I’m not a Jennifer Lawrence fan. That being said, I am obsessed with this Dior dress. It’s something completely classy and something that us normal people could wear to any fancy event.

Miranda Kerr

GORGEOUS. She was by far the best dressed of the night, in my opinion. The cut-out dress trend is one of my favorites for this season and this Michael Kors dress was very flattering on her. Love.

And here were the worst dressed of the night:

Kristen Stewart

This outfit was not flattering at all, and had more of an oriental feel than a punk feel, in my opinion. And this slicked back hair trend.. am I the only one not understanding it? Pretty color – I’ll give her that.

Kim Kardashian

Of course, this picture has been EVERYWHERE so this isn’t anything new. The pattern is very overwhelming on her. If it was a solid color, the dress itself wouldn’t have been horrible – but it’s just too much. Her makeup is gorgeous, though, and the print on the shoes is adorbs.

And for the most SHOCKING outfit of the night…

Madonna

I honestly don’t even know what to say about this outfit. She’s on point with the punk theme, but my goodness. It is Madonna though..so are we really surprised?

The Met Gala brought outrages outfits to the red carpet, and I was loving it.

What were your favorite/least favorite outfits from the Met Gala?
